Why use horse bandages?

Horse bandages protect the horse’s legs from knocks, bruises, cuts, and scrapes when moving, travelling, or in the stable. They also add colour and sophistication to your horse’s riding setup. Tail bandages help keep tails clean and tidy.

What types of horse bandages does LeMieux offer?

LeMieux offers a wide range of horse bandages to suit your horse’s needs. Browse the collection for polo bandages, tail bandages, horse exercise bandages, leg wraps, and stable bandages. We also have memory foam bandage pads, and bamboo pillow wraps to provide an extra layer of support.

What are LeMieux bandages made of?

We use the highest-quality materials to craft our horse bandages. This includes non-pilling fleece, bamboo, and memory foam. You’ll also find bandages with luxurious details, such as satin ends and embossed metal motifs.

What is the correct way of bandaging a horse’s leg?

When bandaging your horse, start in the middle of the tubular bone and wrap downwards towards the fetlock. Once you reach the bottom of the leg, bandage upwards, keeping the fabric nice and taut. Wrap clockwise on the right legs and anti-clockwise on the left legs. The bandage shouldn’t feel loose but shouldn’t be too tight either.

How should you look after LeMieux bandages?

LeMieux horse bandages are easy to clean. Simply close all fastenings and pop them in the washing machine on a 30-degree cycle along with a standard washing table or capsule. You might want to use a wash bag to protect the fabric. Once washed, hang them on a washing line or airer to dry. Never put them in the tumble dryer.

How often should you replace LeMieux bandages?

Bandages should be changed every 12 hours. If they feel clean and dry, you can reapply them. Otherwise, switch to a new set of bandages. Remove your bandages immediately after exercising and wash them to get rid of dried sweat and debris.
