What are support boots?

Support boots are engineered to sit snugly around the legs to protect the tendons and ligaments. They come with a special strap that supports the fetlock and helps prevent hyperextension. Support boots are especially useful for horses with support-related injuries.

What types of support boots does LeMieux offer?

LeMieux’s support boots for horses are available for both the front and hind legs. Several styles are available– schooling boots, snug boots, and carbon mesh boots. Browse our range to find the right style for your horse.

What are LeMieux support boots made of?

We use innovative materials for our support boots, striking a balance between comfort, breathability, and protection. Discover styles made from perforated 3D mesh, moulded TPU shell, and flexible memory TPU. These materials provide shock absorption without compromising on-strike protection.

How should you look after LeMieux support boots?

Our support boots are easy to wash in the washing machine at a low temperature – preferably 30 degrees. Using a washing tab or capsule is fine, but we recommend using a wash bag to protect your boots.

 

Close all fastenings and ensure all the straps are clipped together. Then, once washed, dry your boots naturally away from a heat source. Don’t use a tumble dryer, as excess heat may ruin the fabric. Always read the care instructions related to your boots before washing them.

How often should you replace LeMieux support boots?

How long your support boots last depends on several factors. Frequent use, abrasive ground, and your horse’s gait are more likely to cause wear and tear. It’s also important you choose the right size for your horse. Following the care instructions will help them last as long as possible.
