What are LeMieux sheepskin numnahs made of?

Our sheepskin numnahs are beautifully crafted from lightweight cotton with the finest 100% natural Merino lambswool lining. The dense and soft wool structure moulds to the horse’s back, relieving pressure and providing a comfortable fit. The flexible backing expands as the horse moves, giving your sheepskin numnah stability.

Which sheepskin numnah will suit my horse?

LeMieux sheepskin numnahs have a stiffer spine than traditional pads. This gives them an excellent shape under the saddle. They’re available in a range of different cuts to suit every discipline, including GP, jumping, dressage, and close contact.

How should you look after a LeMieux sheepskin numnah?

While sheepskin numnahs need a little care, they’re easy to clean. Before washing, remove hair, dirt, and dried sweat with a stiff brush and close fastenings. We’d advise washing your numnah in a wash bag to protect the fabric. Hand wash or put in the washing machine at 30 degrees on a cool or wool cycle. You can use LeMieux Wool Wash, but avoid using strong fabric conditioners. Straighten or flatten the cotton fabric after washing and air dry away from any heat source. Never tumble dry.

How often should you replace a LeMieux sheepskin numnah?

If washed carefully by hand or on a cool wool cycle, your sheepskin numnah will last for years. Follow the wash care instructions carefully to extend the life of your pad. Once you start to notice signs of significant wear and tear, it’s time to replace your numnah.
