Why use Headcollars?

You can use headcollars to control your horse in the field or stable. Headcollars are useful when catching, leading, tying up, or travelling. Headcollars help you guide your horse with subtle pressure across the nose and behind the ears. A headcollar also gives your horse an exciting new look, either on its own or combined with other tack.

What types of Headcollars does LeMieux offer?

LeMieux offers a wide range of Vogue, Leather, Comfort and Safety headcollars and an exciting selection of leadropes. Discover the full range of headcollars and leadropes here to add an exciting new look to your horse’s everyday tack.

What are LeMieux Headcollars' benefits?

You can guide your horse with headcollars and leadropes without using a full bridle. But you shouldn't use headcollars for long, unattended periods or riding. Headcollars are a versatile and essential piece of your horse’s tack collection. Headcollars are available in many different styles and colours. Headcollars are light and convenient to use and comfortable for the horse to wear.

How should a Headcollar fit?

Headcollars come in a range of starting sizes. Headcollars are adjustable over the poll by buckles below the ears. The noseband should sit two to three fingers beneath the projecting cheekbone to fit headcollars. There should be room for two to three fingers between the noseband and your horse’s face. A size guide for LeMieux headcollars is available on our website.

How should you look after LeMieux Headcollars?

Regular cleaning ensures the longevity of your horse’s headcollars and leadropes. You can clean leather headcollars and leather parts with a suitable leather cleaner. You can dry leather headcollars with a soft cloth and apply leather balm. You can wash most fabric headcollars and leadropes in a washing machine. Place washable headcollars and leadropes inside a wash bag on a 30° cycle, and leave to dry naturally. Never use a tumble drier. You should always store headcollars and leadropes in a cool, dry place.

How often should you replace LeMieux Headcollars?

You can expect LeMieux headcollars to last when correctly looked after. You should replace headcollars at the first signs of wear and tear for your horse’s safety and security.
