CC Saddle Pads - FAQs

Why choose LeMieux Close Contact Saddle Pad?

Harnessing cutting-edge fabrics and temperature control, our close contact saddle pads exude comfort and sophistication. Thanks to a range of functional details – including a lower girth strap with an inner locking loop – each pad can withstand the rigours of jumping.

Our newer designs have a soft, friction-free binding. This feature helps retain the perfect saddle shape and binding profile, adding a touch of luxury to your horse riding wardrobe.

What are LeMieux CC Saddle Pads made of?

LeMieux close contact saddle pads are available in various fabrics. This includes cotton, merino wool, brushed suede, carbon mesh and woven satin. They also benefit from a soft and breathable bamboo lining. Bamboo controls heat and wicks away sweat and moisture to keep your horse feeling comfortable throughout the year.

Who is LeMieux CC Saddle Pads for?

LeMieux close contact saddle pads are designed to fit a wide range of forward-cut jumping saddles. The high wither design offers an improved fit and reduces pressure along your horse’s spine for comfort and protection when jumping.

Which Close Contact Saddle Pad will suit your horse?

Take a look at our Colour Collections page to see which colour pads are best suited to your horse.

What is the thickness of LeMieux Close Contact Saddle Pads?

The thickness of our pads vary from model to model and are appropriate for the activity and purpose they are designed for to maintain breathability and protection for your horse's back.

When is your CC Saddle Pad fitted correctly?

Your close contact saddle pad should be large enough to cover the saddle area that is in contact with the horse. When fitting the saddle pad, ensure it’s centred on your horse’s back and lifted up into the gullet of the saddle to allow freedom over the spine.

How should you look after LeMieux CC Saddle pads?

Our close contact saddle pads can be placed in the washing machine on a standard 30-degree cycle. Before washing, use a stiff brush to remove dirt, hair and dried sweat. Close all fastening and check that your washing machine drum is large enough for your cc saddle pad.

We don’t recommend tumble drying your close contact saddle pad. Air dry it naturally away from heat and pull it into the correct shape when damp.

Before washing, always check the care instructions carefully.

How long can you use a LeMieux Close Contact Saddle Pad?

Looked after well, a LeMieux saddle pad can last for and look good for years.

LeMieux Close Contact Saddle Pads are very hard to wear in areas of high friction, but horse riding does lead to a lot of wear and tear. Eventually all saddle pads need to be replaced, it just depends on how often you ride and how long you ride for.
